Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how PingMap ("we", "our", or "app") handles information when you use our Android application.

1. Information We Collect

a. Local Device Data (no cloud storage)

PingMap stores all your data — monitored devices, groups, settings, history logs, and scan profiles — exclusively on your device using a local Room database. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it (JSON/CSV).

b. Network Monitoring Data

When you use PingMap to monitor devices on your network, the app performs ICMP pings and TCP port checks to the IP addresses and ports you configure. These addresses are stored locally and are used solely to provide the monitoring functionality you requested.

c. Internet Connectivity (WAN IP Lookup)

For displaying network information on the settings screen, the app may query public APIs (api.ipify.org, api.cleantalk.org) to determine your public IP address and approximate country. This is an optional feature and is only triggered when you view the network info section.

2. Third-Party Services

a. Google AdMob

PingMap uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use device identifiers, usage data, and approximate location for ad personalization, subject to your consent choices. You can control ad personalization in your device settings or via the consent prompt shown on first launch. See Google's Privacy Policy.

b. Google Play Billing

In-app purchases (Pro upgrade) are processed through Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store any payment information. All transaction data is handled by Google.

c. Firebase Analytics

PingMap uses Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app (e.g., feature usage, crash metrics). This data is anonymized and used only for product improvement. See Firebase's Privacy Notice.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except as described in this policy or as required by law.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

All device-stored data can be deleted by uninstalling the app or clearing app data from system settings. Exported files (JSON/CSV) on your device or external storage are under your control and must be deleted manually.

5. Children's Privacy

PingMap does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

6. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted at this URL. Continuing to use the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
